Also several bugs have been fixed as well, there are still many characters and events that will be added in a future quick patch in about a month or two.

did anyone else get an image error at the cow girls place in chapter 3?

yup, and i saved so now im stuck till i get the image download file, damn it, i hope they made a downloadable file attachment to the game file so that way i can get right through and continue the game.
Experienced a hardlock when trying to do the quest for the Teddy Bear Student in the academy. I am assuming that nightshade only spawns at night in the academy grounds. In my game, if I attempt to exit the main building into the courtyard during the "evening" segment of the day the game hardlocks.
RPG maker does NOT stop responding, the game simply stops and accepts no inputs other than console commands i.e. the F keys.
If a save file will help you, i can send it to you.
Nightshade spawns at night time instead of evening, the "evening" time in the academy is like before 0:00 a.m, I guess? So Nightshade spawns in the night as its name suggests.
The Witch academy is still under development, like you said walking out of the academy buildings at evening makes the game jam, boss fight bad ending is not complete yet, and after boss fight, seems like there's no more further content at present.
And leaving the academy cause a bug that After leaving the academy, the academy time mechanism is still displayed at the top of the screen. When returning to the academy, the "check in" process start again, but there's nothing you can do because the quest is long over.
you should focus on bug fixing before further expanding the game. A few game breaking bugs have sprung up with this update, in previously fine sections.
